PEnn State dance Marathon
THON is a 46-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon to raise money to combat pediatric cancer. It was started in 1973 and has since developed into the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi are partnered with the brothers of Pi Kappa Phi for THON 2025. In the months leading up to the event, we participate in alternative fundraisers on campus and downtown, hold THON fundraisers on behalf of our chapter, and spend time with our shared THON families. At THON 2024, Alpha Delta Pi raised over 64,000 dollars, which contributed to the $16.95 million event total. During virtual THON, our chapter held a zoom event in which we taught THON children and families Tiktok dances. In the past, Alpha Delta Pi was also given the prestigious opportunity to host a THON explorers event where we took THON children to a recording studio to let them record their very own song. THON holds a special place in our hearts because families that stay at the Ronald McDonald House are often affected by pediatric cancer. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to contribute to our national philanthropy in more ways than one and help make amazing things possible for the kids.
